Checkride Monday!

Nobody canceled on their IFR checkride today so mine is postponed until the 25th at the earliest. A bummer too, since it was a perfect day for a VFR checkride – way too nice for an IFR!

More checkride practice

I went up today solo and flew around a bit, practicing slow flight, steep turns, a stall, some pilotage, and some short-field take-offs and landings. I’ve also been studying for the oral, brushing up on airspace, emergency procedures, weight and balance, etc.

Well, it’s almost time. I went up with Mark on Saturday to go through stuff the examiner might put me through. I did pretty well, despite being quite rusty. I bungled the short field takeoff, which would have failed me, so we’re going to practice those again before the checkride.
